The Hellenic Scholarships Foundation is pleased to announce the awarding of up to
six (6) scholarships to undergraduate and graduate students of
Hellenic Origin, and of one (1) scholarship to a student of Hellenic Studies regardless of ethnic origin for the current academic year
2008-2009. There will be seven (7)
scholarships of $2,000 each, namely:
- Gerry Sklavounos – MNA Laurier-Dorion Scholarship
- Guy Ouellette – MNA Chomedey-Laval Scholarship
- Lazaros Kalipolidis Family Scholarship,
- Vasilios Tsiolis Foundation Scholarship
- Rassco Construction Scholarship
- Hellenic Medical Association of Quebec Scholarship
- Hellenic Community of Montreal Scholarship
Applicants for the
six (6) scholarships must be of Hellenic origin from paternal
and/or maternal line, residents of Quebec and
full-time students of a Quebec university for the academic year
2008-2009. In addition, they should have completed the first year of university studies.
The one (1) Hellenic Studies scholarship is open to any
Quebec university student currently enrolled full time, who have completed one university year and who study the Hellenic language,
history or culture.
The following documents should be submitted:
One (1) Original and
seven (7) copies of:
- A two-page curriculum vitae (name, address, telephone number and Social Insurance Number
(S.I.N.).
- Proof of full-time enrollment in a Quebec university for the academic year
2007-2008.
- Official transcripts. (Graduate students should provide undergraduate transcripts as well).
- A 500- word personal statement by the candidate (in Greek, English, or French) outlining his/her career objectives and intended contribution to Hellenism or to the Canadian society at large.
Two (2) letters of reference, at least one of which must be written by a professor who is acquainted with the applicant's academic performance. These letters must be sent to the address of the Foundation directly by the signatories.
Note: Past Hellenic Scholarships Foundation recipients who received a scholarship for their undergraduate or graduate studies are not eligible to apply for another scholarship unless they have since changed their program of
study.
Applications and all required documents must be mailed to the Foundation by
Friday, November 14, 2008 at the latest. The mailing address
